It All Started With a Love of Ice Cream
Black Cow Ice Cream was founded by Walter “Wally” Walsh with a simple idea: make really good ice cream and create a place where people love to come back.
Since opening in 1997, Black Cow has become a local favorite for homemade ice cream, classic treats, and special flavors you won’t find just anywhere.
Today, that tradition continues with Wally’s daughter, Charlotte Walsh.
Homemade Means Homemade
We make our ice cream right here on the premises in small batches.
Our super-premium ice cream is made with fresh Vermont cream and quality fruits, extracts, confections, and other ingredients.
The recipes developed by Wally continue to be at the heart of what we do today.
More Than 200 Flavors and Counting
We love the classics, but we also like to have a little fun.
Over the years, Black Cow has created more than 200 ice cream flavors, with specialty flavors rotating throughout the seasons.
That means there’s always a reason to come back and try something new.
A Millis Tradition
For generations of local families, Black Cow has been more than just a place to get ice cream.
It’s where you stop after dinner, celebrate a birthday, meet up with friends, bring the kids, or grab your favorite flavor on a summer night.
